    BP Calico Morph
So I've been getting interested in bp's a little more, and one morph that seems to stick with me is the calico. Do the (calico) snakes get more white sides as they age, or are they just born with their amount of white sides and that stays? Sorry if question is sort of complicated, but yeah. On the other hand, I have less-than-exciting news. We ordered all the stuff for whatever reptile I'm getting, so that's cool. Anyways, so what are your opinions on the calico? (Mods is this in the wrong thread?)

They are born with the pattern they will keep - but in the first couple of sheds it might look more pink than white until the snakes skin grows thicker.

I have a calico male and was told by his breeder that his white would get brighter with age but wouldn't really spread.

Sugars and Calicos are polymorphic in how much white they have. you might have one that is low white, and its offspring might be high white. Kind of like the varying degrees of white you find in piebalds

My calico was very high white. But the pinks in this picture turned to like Browns. I'll try and get a pic of her now tomorrow

Calicos can vary widely depending on the individual- some get lots of white scales as they age, others also get yellow or orange scales!

Here's a pic of a calico het red axanthic I hatched. As has been said, when calicos come out of the egg their sides are very pink. As they shed and put some size on, the pink turns white. The scales that are white will stay white. But as the snake grows, the white stands out more because the scales are growing too. Adult calicos are one of my favorite adult morphs.

Calicos are born with the amount of white they will have like Pieds. The thing is like Pieds it get's white whiter and since the scales get bigger it makes them appear to get me white.
