    Hognose or House Snake?
I will eventually be looking for an occupant for a 24 inch by 18 inch enclosure. I'm thinking either a male albino hognose or male black house snake. Just looking for peoples opinions on these species. Is one "friendlier" aka more handle-able than the other? Which one do you feel is a better display animal? I've heard that some house snakes will come out of hiding when someone enters the room in anticipation of food so that sounds amusing. Hognoses have those adorable faces though so I'm really quite torn.

I have a little hognose and he's a cool little guy. Easy to handle and he does eat well. He's not a good display snake though, the species likes to burrow and so he stays under his substrate most of the time. If I see him out I know he's hungry.

I'm not a huge fan of smaller snakes but if I had to choose one I'd go with a Hognose or Mexican Milk Snake.

House Snake all the way but i'm biased lol....
They look like mini pythons with Viper like eyes... they Curious... when i was keepeing one of them in exo terra vivarium every time i walked in the room my housie was watching me (hoping for food i supouse lol) Incredible feeding response... I've see Housies eating they food Still Hanging on keeper hand...

As Handling as Young snakes they can be Twitchy and nervous but that all Young Snakes... I Have black WC Female with was hell on Earth... Imagine 3 foot snake i was reaching for Snake Hook everytime i opened enclosure.... Now She is mellow and perfectly handleable..

Why You will get more Hognose recomendation because they are way more Popular...

Why I will not recomend hognose ??? Because I have no Slightest amount of experience with them...

I'f You decide on Housie get Male They stay Smaller (around 20-24 inch and 75-90g) and Hopper will be biggest food they will handle... If You will get Female they can reach up to 5 feet and almost 400g... so 24x18 is on the border of being right...

I keep mine (both males and females) in Sweaterbot RBI rack with Tub dimmension 16 1/8" x23 3/4" x 6" and those are perfectly fine as well...
