My snake is awfully active during the day and night today.does that mean hes hungry?

when was the last time you fed him ,and what size prey, and how big is he?

he is exactly 16 and a half inches.i fed him on sunday and i fed him a fuzzy mousie.should i feed him 2?

Well, you know feed prey approx. 1 to 1.5X the thickest part of the snake. I don't know how thick your snake is, maybe a fuzzy isn't enough? There are also ways to feed by weight, if you can find out the weight of your snake in grams.

a ball python can usually eat a full grown mouse at birth I would say it's to small but roaming around could be many things nervousness/stress, curiosity(maybe you changed something major or minor they always cruise around when I change something it could be the place I put there water dish or the color of there substrate)

Hehe, I know what you mean. Pelota has been cruising around more often than usual the past two days since I switched her cage around. I did switch it around pretty major though. Moved the cool hide to the center of the cage so its on the heat pad more for heat, then the water bowl is in the corner, and the fake leaves are all different. Both yesterday, and today she was out early roaming around. I think tonight she was out and about because she knew it was feeding night...that, and she had to leave me a nice 3 inch long p00 right next to her digital thermometer. Hungry girl after that...lol.

Oh, and bpkid, just match the prey size to the thickest part of your bp. Remember, a rodent has fur, so the fur might make it look thicker than the rodent really is. What I like to do is wrap my fingers around the prey item to see how thick it really is, then match it up to the snakes thickness. Currently my 4 month old bp can take down a biggish adult mouse. I'm sure your bp can take a bigger prey item, unless it's really young, or real skinny. But yeah, just match rodent thickness to bp thickness, and you should have no problems. :)
