Weight of 6 month old male BP... Low?
    Hey (Again!)

So I've got most of the husbandry stuff down to a T now. I'm wondering if my ball is small for his age. He is about 6 months old, and I just weighd him at 146 grams. Is that low? He does have an underweight triangle shape to him, but he seems small in general. But then, I have nothing to base that on except to other pics on the internet. He is currently getting fed large mice that weigh about 25 grams... that's on par with the ~15% of his body weight, right? I'd still like to bump him to rat pups when I can, but I've been so worried that he was getting fed too small of mice.

I know BP growth isn't exactly super regular and it will vary, but I thought I'd check for opinions from those of you who have done this before :)

Each snake grows at their own rate, especially if you have to deal with picky eaters or those that go on strike. There really is no "set" weight for snakes.

However with that being said, 146 grams for a 6 month old does seem a little low, I have 6 month olds that are 450+ grams.

If anything you can up his feeding schedule so he can start putting on some weight, so instead of once every seven days, feed him once every five.

Focus on the overall look not the number :gj:

If the animal is well proportionate, eats well, and put on weight with consistency that is what matter the most.

If he was bisected he definitely would not be round, so I do think I'll up his feeding to every 5 days. From what I hear they can put on weight fast as they grow, so I hope to see a change next month! I'll be keeping track of his weight to monitor each week (I knew my fancy digital scale would come in handy some day!)
