    Size of rat advise please
My almost 7m old BP who weighed 327g a month ago (need to weigh again) has been taking two live adult nice every 7 days with no issues. I feel she is big enough to start on a rat hoppy (?) as her girth is definitely that big around. But what about that slim neck and head? Do I need to worry about that? She's never had a problem with swallowing but it's just inconceivable that that huge rat can go past that slim elegant neck!

Personally, I'd offer a weanling rat and then a rat pup 4-5 days later if she denies the weanling. Since it's already on two prey items, you can throw a second in as you see fit. A rat pup is about the size of an adult mouse, so two rat pups or a weanling rat and a pup should be appropriate. When you get a good weight you can probably move her up to smalls.

I don't know what size of a rat a hopper is, I'm only familiar with mouse hoppers.

I think a pup is sort of the rat equivalent of a mouse hopper, they're roughly the same age when culled.

I was told off for the multiple threads. I did not do that on purpose

A 327 gram ball python can easily take a rat weanling! Even a rat pup is way too small!

Feed it a rat that is the same size as the widest part of the snake. Idk what size that would be. Lol

I only make it a science when selling to stick by the standards :rofl:
When feeding, as already stated feed the same width of your snake.
