    what kind of frog is this?
    my boyfriends uncle found this frog in his pond and we were wondering what it is? i looked up the state frogs and toads in West Virginia but none matched it, anyone have any ideas?

    Looks like a wood frog. I think they have red varieties, but I'm no expert.

    Classic wood frog. I'm from eastern Ohio and I kept one in a 10 gallon when I was a kid. They are really cool species. This specie can be very flighty and I would say they are best left out in the wild thinking back on it actually.

    The one I had was bright orange like this one, it appears to be a morph or phase because I've seen the classic light brown ones in the same area that I got that one in.
