    Feeder size advice
My almost 7m old BP who weighed 327g a month ago (need to weigh again) has been taking two live adult nice every 7 days with no issues. I feel she is big enough to start on a rat hoppy (?) as her girth is definitely that big around. But what about that slim neck and head? Do I need to worry about that? She's never had a problem with swallowing but it's just inconceivable that that huge rat can go past that slim elegant neck!

Rule of thumb: food should be the size of the thickest part of you snakes body. And no, you don't have to worry about her neck size ;)

agree with the above. everyone i know with snakes feeds a food item that is equal to the girth of the widest part of the body. if you have never seen a snake swallow something that looks impossibly big for it's slender neck you are in for a treat. it is fascinating watching how they cope with that and how the food eventually slides down

Ok I got a small rat that the breeder said was the right size. Thank you for the reassurance, I'll let you know how it goes!
