    good source for F/T rats?
Where's a good source to buy F/T rats in bulk? Hoping this is going to be cheaper, per rat, than the local pet store.

If you buy online shipping is really expensive, I know several local breeders in my area that I can buy from. You might check around to see if anyone in your area sells what you need..:gj:

Oh and they all sell much lower than pet store costs...

At RodentPro you Basically pay a chunk of shipping whether or not you fill a box so you want to try to fill it to pay the least amount of shipping per animal.

Good animals and cheaper than a petstore.

I've ordered from Big Cheese Rodent Factory and thought the product was good and fairly priced. It was neatly vacuum packed with polystyrene meat trays to keep everything orderly. They also have a $29 flat rate for shipping.

Either Big Cheese or Layne Labs. While shipping is high, if you place a decent sized order the price per rodent is far less than what you would pay locally for a small quantity.

Yes, less than half what I'm paying.

I've used all 3, Layne Labs, RodentPro and Big Cheese. I'd have to say Big Cheese and Layne Labs both have high quality feeders and great packaging, but Big Cheese gets my business with the $29 flat rate shipping charge. The least expensive option is to find a trusted supplier in your area or at an expo.

I also use big cheese. very affordable and clean feeders. You cant beat $29 shipping. The snakes seem happy and i have a hard time believing that I would have gotten a better deal from a local reptile show.

Where do you live? You may be near a breeder that you can buy from directly. Last year I started buying from Bulk Mice here in Houston and Im saving a ton in shipping picking up my orders. I like being able to buy smaller orders more often than a couple big orders each year.
