National Geographic Infrared Thermometer
Hey guys, while I was out running errands, I noticed my Petsmart had started carrying Infrared Temperature Guns.
I've read on a plethora of these threads, that it's really an awesome device to have on hand to monitor floor temps.
So I decided, why not?
It's pretty nifty so far, just don't know how well it's truly working.
Anybody ever used the National Geographic brand? If it's a terrible brand, do you recommend any that I could find in stores vs ordering online?
Thanks! http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...5ddd7c591e.jpg

Ice in your freezer is 32F. Boiling water is 212.

My husband is a mechanic and uses temp guns. They taught him in school that the way to tell if a temp gun is reading temperatures correctly is to measure the temperature of a glass of ice water -- should be exactly 32 degrees. I tried it with mine and it worked. You can also use this trick to find the "sweet spot." That's how I figured out that my gun needs to be about 6" from the surface of what I'm measuring to get a correct read. :D
