Feeding when close to shed

well my little bp is getting close to shed he's eyes really blued over in the last day. His normal feeding day is tomorrow should I hold off on doing so? Or give it a try?

This is personal preference coupled with a knowledge of your snake.

There is nothing wrong with trying to feed him, there is nothing wrong with skipping. Many BP's will eat during their shed cycle, some will not. You will need to learn your snake's preferences over time.

I personally do not offer food just because it takes out all guesswork for me.

Well I guess I'll give it a try since he is a really good eater usally and this is his first shed since I've had him. Thanks for your quick response!

I always offer on feeding day and let the snakes decide. Most of mine will eat no matter what, a few won't during certain times in their shed cycle.

Thanks for the advice I will offer to get him out of the enclosure so I can clean and get a new temp probe mounted so I don't have to keep temp gunning the uth.

I try to wait til Precioucess is out of blue cuz she kinda gets jumpy from not being able to see real well, but then offer her as soon as she's out, before she sheds. so far she hadn't refused a meal, fat little thing she is!

As said, it's all personal preference. With correct humidity, their shed skin will just stretch to accommodate the bulge (if there is one).

Most of my snakes refuse food during shed, only the new guy has accepted recently and I only offered, so I usually just don't offer until they've shed. That way I don't potentially waste a rat/mouse/rabbit, and they don't have to eat all the time so the time off could even be beneficial to them.

Well according to my gauges its at 61% on warmer side and 67% on cooler side right now. I had him out tonight and let him explore around which he loves. Not sure how close he is to shed he is darker and eyes are blue as of today

This may be a beginner tip, but if it's hard for you to get the right humidity for your snake to shed, just give it a nice luke-warm bath. It will be beneficial for the snake and it will enjoy it! Along with making the scales softer and easier to come off. By the end of the bath hopefully he will be happy :) Also hope I helped at all :D

He should shed in the next 2-3 days.
