7 weeks old ball not eating. Help, newbie!
I know they are well known for not having the best appetite. I brought him 3 weeks ago and have his log of eating and he has eaten for me twice, once I left it in his viv and the other time he struck very quickly. I tried to feed him Wednesday but no interest. Just tried again (now Monday) he sniffed it and moved awayi don't know what to do now should i leave it in the vivarium or should i take it out? Should i be worried if he doesn't eat? the conditions are just right in his viv and he has plenty of hiding spots but he is my first ball python i have 2 corns also.

    How often are you offering?
A couple weeks is usually nothing to worry about.
    What is the weight?

Every 6-8 days but it nearly 12 days now. He is only 105 and I am led to believe that at 2 months they should be nearer 200.

    They grow at different rates.
Leave him be for a couple days then try again.

Easy at that size if you want him to eat you need to provide him with a tight space, my guess is that your issue is husbandry related.

Get a 6 quarts tub, use aspen as bedding, provide a hot spot of 88 degrees.

Wait a week, NO handling (not until he eats) and offer whatever he was fed previously if it was live feed live. (In his enclosure)

BTW there is not chart saying that a snake should be a certain weight by a certain date . ;)

Also check the temperature of what your feeding him if it's not with in the range of live kill between 92 to 99 degrees remember they hunt on sent and temperature. Just a thought check with others first.

Could he be on shed? Any refusal to feed usally happens during this time.
