Urine. Urine everywhere.

    Urine. Urine everywhere.
My younger BP, Julias, just had an ungodly spout of urine fly out of her vent today and pretty much soaked herself in it. I know, it sounds awful. And it is.
But that leaves me wondering, how should I go about bathing her? I figure not everyone bathes their snakes, but not only do I want to avoid scale rot, it also stinks, bothers me as a slight germaphobe, and I often let other people handle my snakes while I educate them about the reptiles. So she really needs a bath to get the urine off. How could I possibly go about doing that?

I normally wipe down poo-caso's with damp paper towels - and they absolutely hate it.

Even though by now I know what you mean, every time when you type this I read it is "poo-kazoo" the first time through. It basically brings to mind the same image though, as disgusting as that mental picture is.

Thanks Eric...I have no idea what a caso's is (maybe I do and reading it wrong also..) but I do know what the kazoo is. Now to get that mental pic out of my head of someone tooting it. I let mine swim around in the tub then use a drop of baby soap and let them run through my hands (not around their face). They come out smelling great and are clean. I'm slightly germaphobed too. I usually clean their enclosures with latex gloves on.

    Awesome haha!

In my relatively short time owning BP's I've never had one cover itself in excrement. I know after reading this thread, I'm going to go home and both will be covered! I know it!

Easy on snakes, dragons are a whole different story....................
My wife has one named Dirty Bird, I know he is from a tribe called kick-a-poo and he specializes in finger painting. :O

I just set the temp on the kitchen faucet very carefully, and rinse them gently in a stream of running water. And yeah, they aren't too happy about it. And still chuckling over poo-caso, as much because I have a couple that would qualify for that title.

This is essentially what I ended up doing and I also find the latex glove part very relatable. lol
Thank God too, because Julias has big, educational plans for Halloween tonight!
