    Bird Perches for BP?
I have seen a lot of super cute wooden perches for ball pythons, but does anyone use large wooden bird perches for their balls? Not the ladders, just big perches like this : http://www.windycityparrot.com/Prevu...-19_p_915.html

If you have them in your tank, can you post a pic? I'd like to see!

Ball pythons are by nature terrestrial snakes so I doubt that they will even use a climbing perch.

I put a piece of driftwood in my first tank that had a branch sticking up and out, thinking maybe she would climb on it. She hangs out under the thick part on the bottom, and I'm never seen her try to climb it or anything like it. They don't much care for high places

I think it depends on the snake. I just took this picture of my lesser five minutes ago, and he does this every night.

Thank you for posting a pic. Your snake looks very happy. Where did you get your climbing tree?

Its a resin branch from petsmart. My other ball python has a branch in his enclosure and he doesn't climb. My lesser is just a bit of a weirdo I guess. I've even caught him burrowing once before.

My bp loves to climb. He will go as high as he can possibly go. I like to rearrange th sticks in his cage once in a while so he has more/new places to climb

I don't think I've ever seen a ball python not climb if given the opportunity.

Being terrestrial doesn't mean you never climb anything. I'm terrestrial and I used to climb trees all the time as a kid.

Some will use the perches and other climbing equipment, some won't. The only thing you can really do is put one or two in with your snake and see if/how often he utilizes them.
