Kurtz went blue...then back!

last week my snake went into blue...first time i've seen it!...then i went away for the weekend...came back hoping to find a shed, but he looks normal now? The temperature dropped to around 75 or so at night...probably had a cooler weekend than he would have liked, but could the temp drop have stopped the blue?

Sometimes it takes longer to shed it can be 3 to 7 days after their eyes clear before they shed. Just keep you RH % up and you should find a shed soon. Also look under his hide mine loves to shed in his hide.

oh thanks....so they go blue...then normal...then shed? the humidity is around 60 i think. what about feeding and shedding...should i wait for him to shed before the next rodent?

Your rh spounds about right. I would wait until he leaves ya a shed before you feed him again. When mine start to shed I don't feed them or even handle them. They feel really vunerable when getting ready to shed and can stress really easy in this state. So, give him time and everything will work out for ya. Check his enclosure everyday for a shed though. Like freakie frog said mine too loves to shed in his hide box. How he does it I don't know, but I have never seen a shed outside of his box. When he sheds feed him, and everything should be back to normal. Good luck man, and let us know how it turns out.

BP's generally go blue for a couple of days, then their eyes clear up, then they shed. The whole process generally takes from 7 to 10 days, however it might go longer.

I don't have much to add to what everyone else has said. Just want to add that it's best if you can raise the humidity up to around 70-80% during the shed time. Also make sure there's an object like a rock(disinfect it before throwing it in the cage) so when it comes time to shed, it can rub against it to slither out of the skin.

Oh, and keep an eye on that temperature. Probably not good if your temperature can drop so easily. ;)
