    2 hides
I know you need 3 hides. One for warm side, one for cool side, one moist for warm side. My question is: can I go with cool side hide and moist hide on hot side only? I have 10 g and not much room.

You don't necessarily need that moist hide, most people have those if they can't keep the humidity up, so their snake will shed properly.

You do need a moist hide for leopard geckos :) a warm moist hide should be fine if there is a dry cool hide

I only use the moist hide if he is about to shed. I don't have room for it all the time so I swap it in for a day or two and then take it out. Leos are very obvious when they are going to shed.

Just to add.. a moist hide is a good way to keep the leo hydrated aswell, regardless of their water bowls mine drink from the condensation on the top of the hide. It's best to have 3 hides when it comes down to it, and if there is not enough room then best to upgrade to a larger enclosure or bin. A 10 gallon tank won't comfortably house an adult leopard gecko with the amount of floor space it allows (I don't know the age of your gecko but they all eventually grow) until you upgrade I'd say continue to offer a moist hide if you have to choose. My leos are in racks in large bins that allow for 3 hides, food & water bowls + space to move. Everyone does it differently in this hobby but when I'm keeping living things I make sure they have everything they need!
