    Food To Large?
Have posted a few questions previously, but figured I would start a new thread. Tried to feed my new 1000 gram Spider a medium rat. (got her October 11th, and breeder had fed her on Oct 6th). The breeder she came from was feeding her smalls. I have all my conditions correct, she is very active at night as well. She was very interested in the rat, and sized it up, only to not strike, but she was coiled back like she was going to and did not turn away. Went back in her hide and was out again climbing all over the place within 10 minutes. Two questions:

    1. Should offer her a small rat for the next few weeks?
    2. Should I offer again tonight? (a small rat that is)

    Thanks,

Sorry, should have said the rat I tried to feed her was last night.

I would wait a week and offer a small rat. The refusal could be a few different things, but leaving her be for the week will likely help ease her stress level. Then, offering her what the breeder was feeding should put her back on track again.
