    2 Week Vacation?
So in november I will be leaving for two weeks to go to Hawaii. I am nervous on starving my BP so I was wondering would it be ok the day before I leave to feed him double the amount?

One of my ball pythons must think I've been on vacation since July. ;) Seriously - two weeks is nothing. Don't feed extra otherwise you'll just have more to clean up when you get back home.

Enjoy your trip - Hawaii is awesome (my wife and I were married there)!

Do not feed the day before you leave, stop all feeding a week prior to your trip.

Eric Alan- thanks! Yea this is me and my girlfriends first vacation together and I am super excited! Best thing with this vacation is the money we are saving! I am lucky enough that my father bought a house in Maui 5-6 years ago, and this is my first time going out their. It should be a good relaxing time for us and we will be with my father since he will be down their for 2 months before he comes back home and then he just rents it out. I bet your wedding was GORGEOUS!!

Deborah- so your saying don't feed my snake for 3 weeks? Wouldn't that cause a lot of stress? I know if I am a day late with feeding my BP every week he gets very active and try's breaking himself out of cage lol.

I would add an extra water bowl just in case they run out, but don't feed the week before you go and they will be fine.

It will not be a problem.

You dont want to feed the day before in case of a mishap and he regurg's now you have a decaying rat carcass... Is there anyone you know friend/family who could stop buy once a week?

I agree, no food 4-7 days prior to leaving. Make sure the cage is clean and the water bowl can not tip over. He will be fine. Better than....

-power outage = unable to digest double food meal
    - tipped water dish = scale rot
    - if you want to do something, add a back up thermostat to avoid malfunction and have someone come by and make sure the power is on. That someone can be grandma terrified of snakes since she wont even have to go into the same room that they are in.

I had a male spider around 1000 grams not eat for a year (actually more like 13 months). He lost about 100 grams then one day took that rat like he never fasted. Reptiles are different than mammals. They can go a really long time.
