When my bp was eating, she ate a really(i mean really) tiny peice of repti bark.It got in her feeding enclosure.is it ok?
-
eh...she...should be ok? i would guess, but there could be possible complications
i'd suggest getting a rubbermaid tub or something and using that for a feeding enclosure, especially since the snakes normal environment contains a substrate that it could potentially ingest
-
it wasnt even much though

There is a possibility for complications no matter how big or small the reptibark she ate was. I too use reptibark in my snakes homes, but I also feed in a separate rubber maid for thier safety..you may consider getting one for feeding also. Just watch your bp and see if there r any complications, if you see any complications or think there is something wrong, take your bp to the vet.

I have reptibark, and I feed in the enclosure. It's just easier. But I put down a sheet of newspaper to cover the feeding area. That way I don't have to worry about the regurge thing when moving the snake from a feeding enclosure, and it's just easier. I wait until she has the mouse down, then give her a while to settle. Usually after she's done yawning and re-aligning her jaw, she'll be flicking her tongue looking for her hide. So I slowly lift up the newspaper and she slides off it, then I put her hide back in place, and she slithers right in. Then I put her waterbowl and stick back, and it's a done deal.

i'm not even sure she ate it.She looked fine when i got home. Will it kill her?i dont wanna lose another snake so quickly.

Eh , I wouldn't worry about it. I know a guy who had a boa eat a small towel and it ended up passing it a few weeks later. Thats pretty extreme, but I think a small piece will be alright.

I personally would worry. And in the future, you may want to feed in a separate container than you house your snake in, that way you dont have to be right there watching (as long as you feed f/t or f/k) and wondering if it ate the reptibark after it is done.
