    40 gallon breeder tank
Hi guys, I have a pied female that's 7 mos old, weighs 510 grams that is in a 20 gallon long reptile tank. She now gets a small rat every 3-4 days with gusto , great feeder . Just wondering at what age/weight can I transfer her to a 40 gallon reptile breeder tank without getting all stressed out so I can use that tank for my female BEL that is currently in a 10 gal tank , 3 mos old , weighs 185 grams , takes a f/t rat pup every 3-4 days . I also have an 8 yr old albino female that weighs 2000 grams , 4.5 feet long currently in a 40 gal reptile breeder tank. Thanks for the advice .

I keep naturalistic tanks and with offering plenty of cover and hides I have raised my ball in a 40 gallon tank. She has done fine and remains a great feeder. I have real and fake plants, driftwood, vines, moss, and cypress mulch. Trying to do the switch and leaving the tank open would probably not do as well.

I just put mine in a 40 gallon and he is about…. maybe 2 feet? A friend who breeds snakes said it was too soon for me to put it in a 40 gallon. but I put LOTS of decorations in to make it feel smaller. He said it was fine since i put so much stuff in it. I have suction cup leaves covering 3 walls, 2 hides (one big one small) sticks, and plants, and 2 water dishes, and a skull. So the more you place in the tank, the sooner you can move him.

My gal is just about 170 grams and does well in her 40 gallon. I've got a ton of leaves and hides in there for her, and she's happy as can be.
