Should I feed?

So my ball python shed its skin and has quite a lot of stuck shed. I put him a container with warm water but he hated that. He practically leaped out of it. So I wrapped him in a towel and hated it less, but still didn't like it. I got a little bit of skin off but theres still quite a bit on there. I alway feed him on weekends but I'm not sure if I should with the stuck skin? Also, what else can I do to get the skin off?

your body temp is 98 degrees, so if the water is warm to you it's probably hot to him. It should be a little cooler to the touch. I think you'll find that he won't have as big a problem with the water then...

As long as there aren't any stuck pieces completely wrapped around his body, it's perfectly fine to feed him.

Remember our INSIDE in 98... our skin is anywhere from 76-81 roughly (finger tips)


When i measure water to use, i put my underarm under tap for it to feel warming, and not hot.

You but your underarm under the tap? Thats certainly a funny image.

If his eyecaps and tail tip are clean, and he doesn't have a tight ring of stuck shed around his belly, then just keep his humidity in his enclosure bumped up, and let him work off the stuck shed.

I would feed this weekend as usual.

What I do is put mine in a small container with a wash cloth and some holes in the top so he can't get out, however I haven't had any shed problems since I purchased a larger hide and put damp moss on one side when I make sure it stays damp when he's in shed and haven't had any issues in the last 6 or so sheds
