I really want to jump on the Fire/Axanthic train, but...

I'm not sure. I really want to jump in on some Fire/Axanthic projects this year or next but I really don't know...anybody seen older animals in person, they stay silver and black?

I honestly don't like axanthics on their own but paired with some other morphs they are breathtaking I've seen some combos that were older and they were stunning but it's all personal preference

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering specifically about fire, firefly axanthics and maybe lesser/butter axanthics as a project. I was wondering if people have seen them in person from a friend or at a show or has experience with them. I know a few people are working with Axanthic combos in deeper serious projects. I've seen fire/axanthics and lesser axanthics for sale and I'm just curious.

I've seen some photos of adult axanthics (I want to say the majority of them were VPI) on other forums, and the ones I have seen still look black/white in comparison to other morphs. I don't think they're quite as striking as hatchlings, but to be fair, a lot of morphs don't look as great as adults as they do as hatchlings. From what I've read though, VPI axanthics do not brown out as much as other lines (but I have seen pictures of other lines, such as TSK, where the adult axanthics were still very obviously silver/black). It just seems like some lose their color and some don't. I have axanthic projects planned for next year when my boy (VPI line) is the right size. I'm prepared for him to brown out eventually, but it would be really cool if he didn't. Haha. :)

Edited: Whoops, I didn't read thoroughly about you specifically looking for adult Axanthic Fires. Honestly, I haven't seen one older than 600g, but that one was GORGEOUS. Axanthic Fires are amazings at bringing out the contrast. I'd guess that if you were starting with good genetics, you wouldn't have too much browning.
