    2 feeding
i fed my new bp sunday a day after i got him. he ate good. then went to feed him this morning. (4 days later, which i read they should eat every 4 to 5 days until they are bigger.) he ate it fine. or so i thought. i woke up about 4 hrs later to find that he threw it back up with what looked to be fur from the rat from sunday. he was born july and am feeding him rat pups... any advice on why this happened. was 4 days to soon, should i have waited 5?

just new to BPs and do not want to mess anything up.

    Hi,

What are the temps inside the hides/ where the snake actually spends most of the time?

my thermostat probe is between heat mat and tank. which is set higher to get at 90. my thermometer probe is in tank right over that and under subtract. for the cool side and humidity. i have one that checks both... the humidity checker probe part is in middle of tank about 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch above substract. and temp probe is on cool side about same distance above substract

The regurge likely happened due in part to the temps not being quite high enough to digest over the past few days, combined with feeding on day four. FWIW I feed my babies that age every seven days, mainly for my convenience so they're on the same schedule as my adults, and they're just fine.

A regurge is pretty hard on their systems. You should hold off feeding yours again for at least two weeks, and the next feeder should be a size smaller than what you're feeding now, so offer a rat fuzzy.

In the meantime pick up some of this - http://beanfarm.com/product_info.php...oducts_id=5933 - it's a probiotic for reptiles. When snakes regurge they lose a lot of their good gut flora, this will help put it back. Dust the feeder with a small amount of it. I feed f/t wet, and the NutriBAC sticks to the wet feeder.

If the rat fuzzy in two weeks stays down, offer another or a small pup seven days later, and again dust the feeder with the NutriBAC.
If that feeding goes ok then offer a pup as usual every seven days.
