Horrible people! I have to vent
Sorry if this is wrong forum but I just had surgery today on my knee and I got a call from my brothers girlfriend and she said hey I need help my aunt does animal rescue and got a call and said this lady is leaving her ball python in 40g glass breeder outside the house basically to die because she couldn't sell it. Mind you i have been home from knee surgery maybe 3hrs and I, well tried to jump up and yell get him to me, luckily she had him in the car already. Horrible shed really peicey BUT overall healthy looking, her son went to college and couldn't bring it, just amazes me how people are. So I got it back here and gave it a great soak with some she ease and got rest of shed off. [emoji1]
Once again sorry if wrong area I just had to vent.

So what did you do to soak it? My snake has a stuck shed (Thats what another called it) I am new to snake keeping and need to know what to do.

You can literally soak it in tepid (feels slightly cool to you) water (about 1" worth), but what I do is eat paper towels and put the snake in a tub with the wet paper towels and a rock to scrape on... Leave them for a couple hours and it usually is taken care of.

To the OP: I've never understood those people... The same type releases their cat / dog outside instead of taking them to a shelter. When there are other options available, why would you almost guarantee the animal will die?

You eat paper towels?? I don't see how that would work ( :O:O:O:D:D:D ) (I know what you meant, I'm just kidding)

My favorite method of getting off a bad shed is to soak a snake bag in warm water, put the snake in the bag, tie up the bag and then put it back in the cage. Check on it every so often to make sure the bag stays damp. This usually takes care of the issue within an hour or two.

Basically I just filled a tupperware with warm water and added some stuff ,shed ease, and literally let it sit for 20mins in there and then massaged trouble area gently and BOOM [emoji95] came right off [emoji4]

Honestly if I was able to walk I wanted her to take me there and let her know how I feel about that.

Bags of kittens on freeways, dogs locked up in foreclosed houses, pythons left to die outside...

Maybe we should just exterminate all humans?

I'm glad he's safe with you.
