Being sick a problem?

I've come down with a nasty cold and was wondering would it be safe to deal with my ball pythons or no? I really need to feed them. I was told that my sickness won't bother them but I just want to make sure.

It won't be a problem. You can feed.

Really the biggest concern when working with reptiles in general is passing on bacteria. Which is not anything that causes sneezing or our typical respiratory ailments. The most likely way for this bacteria to get transferred is when the animals bites you. So wash your hands before you handle, I go up to the elbows because I usually use my arm to support the body, and you should never have any worries.

Most human diseases are not really communicable to the animals. Wash your hands before and after, don't over tax yourself, and you'll be fine. It's a bigger worry that being immune compromised due to being sick that they might transfer something to you.
