    UTH falls off :/
So I have a 20 gal long tank for my bp and a zoo med UTH for it. I also have a little thermostat probe that I stick between the tank and the UTH. The adhesive for the pad just doesn't seem to be cutting it, due to the bulge caused by the probe, the pad won't lay flat. I use aluminum tape to try and keep everything on but I still see the pad falling off. I was wondering if I should add some sort of padding, foam or something, under the tank to put pressure on the pad to help keep it on the bottom of the tank, but also slightly worried that would become a fire hazard. Any suggestions?

Are you sticking the UTH to the aluminum tape or taping the pad to the tank on the outside? Odd the tape isn't holding up. I've had issues in the past with Zoo Med UTHs not sticking.

    Have you tried electrical tape?

Tried electrical tape, it just kinda disintegrates. And I'm taping it from the outside, the pad is staying, its just not staying very flush, I know its probably mainly caused from the thermostat probe but I just wasn't sure if there was a better way to do it. Due to the incoming cooler weather I'm trying to really get his tank set as much as I can, was sure if foam pad would help with keeping the UTH more flush as well as providing a bit of insulation. I love my Florida weather but in the winter even Floridians have to watch the temps in the tank to make sure they don't drop. (First winter with a reptile)

I wouldn't use anything like foam, as it could cause a fire hazard. There is some tape called Gorilla Tape that is really good.

I'd go with gorilla tape. Hopefully holds up to the heat. I've usually had no problems with using the foil tape. Sounds strange.

I'd be worried about creating a pressure point on the glass and causing it to crack where the probe sits if you put foam under the UTH to hold it up. Foil tape should work, that stuff is almost impossible to remove.

You don't need the pad to be 100% flush across the hold pad. The probe will cause a slight bump which is fine. If it seems there is a slight bulge in the middle which isn't making enough contact or transferring enough heat, a strip of tape across the center should work.

OK, thanks guys. From what I'm hearing, essentially what I have is OK, and I'm worrying over nothing. (The usual, haha) thank you all for your input :)
