Newbie Wonder How I am Doing
It just got my first ball python a couple of weeks a go. She is a normal ball python named Bella and almost 2 feet already. She was my B-day gift from my loving husband :D. I was wondering how I am doing with her so here is what has gone on so far.
Her habitat is an incluser 2 feet by 1 foot by 1 foot because I was told they are not fond of open spaces to much. There are 4 hides all over the tank for her so she can decide where she wants to be. I have a substrate that helps with humidity will mimicking what she would have had in the wild. There is a water dish big enough for her to soak in if needed. The rocks in there are to help her shed and are rough, but not sharp in anyway. The cool side of the take is always high 70s to low 80s and the hot side is in the 90s with the humidity between 45 and 55 percent.
She has no problem being handled by anyone, all she does is sit in the persons lap and enjoys herself. When she wants back in her home she moves toward it. We put our hand now and she climbs down herself. In her home she did try to climb it the first few days til she figured everything out now at night she just moves around a bit on the ground.
She had no problems eating for me I have gotten her to eat frozen and live food with no problems :D. I find that interesting because she would have problems eating for the pet store owner.
When I got her she was in good shape and healthy. However she had a few retained scales from her last shed. I soaked her and they cam off with ease.
That is what is happened so far. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I want her to have a long happy life. :D
