Belly heat?

Hi everyone I live in Texas. Some people have told me don't need any heat for corn, some have said to use small 15 w basking bulb so that they don't get hot and some have said Utah only for digestion. I'd really appreciate some insight. I want to provide right heating for my corn. Thank you

I use a UTH for those of my corns in tanks, and heat tape for those in the rack system. Lights can sometimes lead to shedding problems by decreasing humidity plus corns tend to be most active in the evening, when there wouldn't be much sun to bask in. That said, during summer when the temperature in my house regularly reaching the low to mid 80s, I turn the heat off on my snakes. They do fine, and it saves me electricity. During autumn/winter/spring however, my house is usually in the mid 60s to mid 70s, so the heat goes on.

My house stays 74-75 all year long so I do not need extra heat. If your snakes are being kept in a room cooler than that the use of a uth would be helpful, but I would not put a light on them since they are mostly a nocturnal animal.
