    Jungle carpet soaking
My boyfriend and I have a jungle carpet python. She has recently started soaking in her water bowl a lot. We have had her almost a year, and until a couple weeks ago, I have never seen her just chilling in her water bowl. She has been checked thoroughly for mites, and nothing has been found. She doesn't seem to be going into shed, and her tank temperatures and humidity have stayed the same. Is this something we should be worried about?

Please and thank you for all replies ^.^

We have checked every single day, and nothing has been found.

    They are super tiny,
Not saying this is the problem, just when my snakes started excessively soaking, mites were everywhere. Hope you get it figured out

I would recommend keeping an eye out for mites as well. Do you know how to properly
Check for them? Looking over the snake won't be the easiest way an would generally not be seen on them unless you have a really bad infestation.

Best is to check the water bowel. It can be very hard to see if you haven't done it before or know exactly what to look for. They could be easily missed if this is your first time having a possible mite issue.

What substrate are you using? If it's not paper towel you should change it to that because getting substrate in the water will just make it harder to find mites. Also a white water dish would be best to make it easier to see the black mites if there are any.

There are other possible reason a snake can soak but if all you husbandry is 100% like you said and the fact you make it sound like this wasn't normal behaviour and now it is sounding excessive I would lean towards it is likely a mite issue. Just keep checking for a few weeks.
