oops

i think i may have fed adrian a little to big of a rat. it was a sm rat, what she usually eats, but a larger one. when she constricted it, it looks as if she broke its backbone, and she popped the rats stomach open.i hope shes ok, and doesnt regurge, if she does, whats the worst thing that will happen health wise? do i even wanna know? grr i hope my girl is ok

So the gut busted? Aslong as she got the rat down I don't think there should be a problem. And if she regurges, all it'll do is empty out her stomach acids so she'll have to replenish her acids. Basically if she regurges, I'd just clean the mess, and give her till next week to eat. Or if you want to feed her soon, I'd give her a day or two to replenish the acids first.

If boas are similar to ball pythons in this, and I don't know any reason they wouldn't be, it's a good idea to skip a feeding to let them recover from the damage done by the regurgitation. The acids come further up the tract than they're supposed to and can make the tissues tender.
