    FT Order Not Frozen?
I picked up an order of 24 total rats, 12 weaned and 12 smalls, last Wednesday (9/24). I went to pull a pack today (9/30) for feeding, and I discovered that they weren't completely frozen. My provider had been having a problem with his deep freezer, so they weren't completely frozen when I received them, but I thought they'd freeze in my own freezer, and they did not. Can I still feed them off? Should I contact my provider? They've definitely remained cold, but they aren't frozen solid, and that worries me.

I'd check the temp in your freezer, that doesn't sound right.

Update: only 2 of the 6 packs weren't frozen solid, and those packs were sitting on top, so I'm guessing it's just a case of cold sinking, heat rising. I'm still stocked up for a few weeks.

You really need to check your deep freeze, even the stuff on the top should be frozen solid.

If your freezer has a lot of empty space, put some jugs of water in it to fill it up, it will help it run more efficiently and will drop the temperature back below freezing faster after you have to open it up.
