Getting ready to shed? *pic heavy*

So Shesha has seemed a bit less active the last day or two and I have noticed him rubbing on his decor. The breeder thinks he will be due to shed again soon but I have never seen a snake go through a shed before I could really use some second opinions and reassurance. He seems to be displaying the trademark pinkish belly and his darker scales, especially towards his belly, look milky. I am also noticing some looser skin recently, since I am not sure how much wrinkling is normal before shedding I would just like to rule out dehydration. I have watched him drink from his water bowl on a few occasions and his humidity has never dropped lower than about 53%. The only thing that seems odd to me is that his eyes are clear and from what I can tell were never cloudy. The sticky I read here on shedding seemed to indicate that cloudy eyes come before the other signs like the pink belly, but he is also a pastel and I can't seem to find any pictures to reference of the cloudy eyes when their eyes are light green so I really don't know how blue they would look.

My hands were clammy in this shot and were causing his skin to pull a bit but it shows how much give there is.

So what do you think? Any cause for alarm or just a normal shed cycle, and does the wrinkling look normal based on his size or does he seem underweight as well? I had taken him out to weigh him this evening when I noticed the dull coloration and pink tone. His weight is at 92 grams and he is about 2 months old. His temps are at 90 in his hot hide, 80 ambient, and 68% humidity after misting and adding the damp moss. Thanks so much for any guidance anyone has, being a new snake mommy is proving to be almost as nerve wracking as being a new human mommy lol.

I would think shed. My girl's belly gets that red when she's going into shed and the first time it happened I freaked out thinking she was burned.

I don't know about the wrinkling though. that I've noticed, Nagini only gets wrinkly when shes closer to actually losing her skin.

I almost always notice the pink belly prior to their eyes going opaque. I don't always track when they go opaque but when I have it's typically 2-3 days later that they shed and I'll notice the pink belly 1-3 days prior to them going opaque. Sometimes it's a light pink tinge and others I'll catch it a much brighter pink like what you're seeing. I'm betting that in a day or two your little guy will have cloudy eyes.

Everything seems to be fine from what your saying/showing. Just make sure you keep the humidity up around 60% and within the week he should be shed. His eyes should cloud over in the next few days.

Thanks you guys, I am really excited but nervous too. Boy I can't wait until he gets all the big milestones out of the way so I can stop having such frequent panic attacks.:rolleyes: He seems to be doing it all quickly though. Only had him a little over a week and already a shed.

Don't worry about having frequent panic attacks. I've had mine for about 3-4 months and if I see her doing something I've never seen before I freak right out. Panic attacks mean you're paying attention to what is happening:-3

Thank you siren, I am glad I am not the only one. I spent ten years wanting a bp like crazy but I never thought I could handle feeding rodents. I finally have come to terms with it but after wanting one for so long and finally getting him I am scared to death of losing him to something. It is all still really surreal, I am still waking up every morning half expecting him to have been just a dream lol. :oops:

I was a nervous wreck the first time that Ginny shed - she looked like a zombie. I do believe that it's belly, eyes, shed.

Feeding has been the hardest thing for me to adjust to. I've wanted a snake for ages, but I also love things that are cute. This may be twisted but I used to have a pair of rats with my ex boyfriend. We didn't end well and he kept the kids. Since then I haven't minded as much.
