    Scale Issue
My snake just shed and after doing so I noticed that a few of her scales were red and damaged looking. She's my first snake and to be honest I'm terrified of doing something wrong, or of her getting something like scale rot, RI, mites or anything along those lines. Here are the pictures of what I found, and what I bought to put on it. I have her on Aspen shavings and moss. Heat lamp and UTH although I don't have a thermostat yet. Temps/humidity is normal, I check the cage for feces and urates every day and change the bedding every 2 weeks or so. Tonight I'm going to pull out the substrate I have, and put her on paper towel, and take the UTH off for good until I can get a thermostat.

Does the scale issues look like anything and if they are, is the polysporn ok to put on?

I don't see much to be concerned about.

Thanks...not even the red in the fourth picture down? some of her scales look really dry / brownish and I don't know if that's normal or not. they're sort of near her cloaca

Not even that one but remember I'm on the other side of a screen. It was probably just a rough shed patch. I would keep an eye on it but I would not freak out.

Okay. Thanks so much :-) My panic level is subdued.

Remember when your using any ointment make sure there's no "pain killer" of any sort inside of it.

Yeah, thanks for the heads up. I had read that so I made sure that this ointment didn't have any Lidocaine or anything similar in it.
