Its like my sophia just woke up!
Nothing has changed in her habitat, she's off her feed (refused her rat for 4 weeks now), but for the last 4 days she roams all over her habitat like she's looking for something, when I handle her she just seems to want to return to her hab. ANY ideas on this? She's 1 and 1/2 years old, I've had her for 7 months and she's never been this active (all day she cruises whereas before she stayed in her hide). I know she's too small (567 grams) to breed, but could her hormones be kicking in and she's looking for a mate? I'm concerned cause some of the research I've done says snakes that are active all the time are stressed and unhappy. Monsoons are here in AZ and this all started on a day with bad thunder and lightning here but last 3 days have been quiet storm wise. She is my first snake in my house have cared for others and have never seen this behavior before. Also I live Kingman AZ where the Library carries no helpful book (the only have 2!?) so can anyone recommend any good books on bp behavior. TIA

Some of mine that are typically chill have been overly active lately as well. Setups are exactly the same as always. I think it might be due to the changes in the barometric pressure, as they seem to get more active when we have fronts coming in. You have probably had similar weather patterns in Kingman over the last few weeks like we have had here in Southern California due to the remnants of those hurricanes coming up from the Mexican coast.

I was totally thinking the same thing. I live in San Diego and Olaf was just so so restless constantly trying to escape before it started storming here. He actually did get out and I found him sitting in the window. Maybe he felt the need to be elevated.
