Has anyone ever had a ball python age out?
In other words, has anyone had one die of apparent old age?

I know this hobby for a large part is younger than the projected life expectancy of a ball python, so I suspect there will be few of you, but if so, how old (roughly) was the BP, and what type of signs did it show before it passed, and for how long?

I can't find any information on this subject anywhere online so I thought I would see if any hobbyists have had any experience here.

I haven't, although the older animals do act... older, is the only way I can describe it. More settled, sedate.

Curious to see what others have experienced.

Interesting thread, hopefully there's a few who have owned snakes until natural death to pipe in. My oldest is probably 10 or so, I've had him almost nine years.

Not yet. 18 and still kicking just fine. I have no reason not to think she'll be around for at least another 10 years.

Ive met a few that were in their 20s. Greg graziani still breeds a female in her 20s IIRC

I'm in my early 60's, and have a bp that's not quite a year old. I fully expect him to outlive me:weirdface
