    Sick snakes
All I have to say is Ugh...

Hopefully some of you folks will understand.

Won a baby in an online auction. Get her and find out she's captive hatched. She doesn't really look like the pictures on the auction, but I decide what the heck, I'll keep her anyway. A couple weeks in and I notice she has diarrhea. It smells terrible; worse than normal. My gut sinks and I'm thankful for the QT regiment I have. Finally get her in to see the vet and she has 2 types of protozoan parasites. The vet also says that while the breeder said she was eating well, she definitely wasn't because she's too thin even though she's eaten for me a couple of times. Now every other day, I have to give her medicine orally, switch to a smaller food, and sanitize her enclosure each time I give her meds. To top it all off, this wild colored snake, which ended up being a paleish normal looking snake might actually be male.

The breeder said I could return her if I wasn't happy, but I don't have the heart for it. Here's hoping she gets healthy and stays that way for a good long life...
