day 44 eggs not looking good

I've wrote other post about it but wasn't able to get a pix up till now. It's maternal incubation and temps and humidity is up to par but I think the mama is having trouble. She laying on top of the eggs and smashing them. And recently I've been seeing her out of her hide just laying around. Not sure if she just gave up or what. Need some advice. Just had to pay bills so no money for an incubator. I was going to buy one last week when I saw this.http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/...pskhauzyyz.jpgI'm pretty sure the one on the right is dead. It's hard as a rock and flat. The ones in the back look ok but the other two kinda flat one I'm not sure about. I can't get a good candle to see vains. The temp is 90 and humidity is 80 in the cage.

Sorry to hear about this. They do not look good, that's for sure. Humidity needs to be a lot higher than 80%, that could be the main issue. IMO the eggs look very dry along with the substrate. Have you candled them?

I see three that may still be viable.

I'm going to put more moist eco earth under them the next time mama leaves the hide. Next time I'm going for machine incubation. Lol. This has been super stressful. I was also thinking of throwing a uth under them with a thermostat to warm the bottom them. I'm useing a rhp for heat.

Last time I candled was a couple weeks ago. I need a better flash light. It's kinda hard to see with the one I have. The three in the back are doing fine but the other two are to squashed to candle.

You can make a cheap incubator. First one I used was made with styrofoam and tape and flexwatt and a couple of bottles. Made the top with styrofoam too and put a book to keep it closed tight. This is the only pic I found....incubated three clutches that year, didnt lose one egg.

Some of the eggs still looking good. If it's hard then I'm afraid they are no longer good. But still I would wait it out and yes the humidity needs to be much higher. It's kind of hard to keep it high in your enclosure. Best of luck bud!

high relative humidity will not help much in this case because the dry substrate sucks the moistrue out of the eggs.
do not put a heater directly under the eggs because they may get too warm. high temps kill a clutch faster than cold temps.
personally, i would make an emergency incubator and pull them out asap.....they may make it full term if left with mom, but run the risk of getting dead in eggs because the babies can't get out of the dry hard shells...

Thanks guys. I'll see if I can find a way to get a hovobator. Their on the cheap side but heard a lot of good things about them

Found a reptile breeder that will incubate the eggs for me till they hatch. I just hope it not to late. Poor worms. Hope they are ok.
