Rat too big!!

I just fed my young ball python a rat that may have been too big. She appears to be struggling quite a bit. The last few meals she ate quickly and didn't show much of a lump so I decided to bump up the rat size. She killed it well which I'm proud of but concerned this may be too big and unsure what to do now. She only has the head down and it's larger than the last ones.

If this is too big will she reject it on her own?

Yes that looks too large to me. What does each one weigh? It is going to try its best to get it down.. It might get partial and then regurge but not sure. Update pic please.

She got it down... somehow. Must have been hungry. Kind of freaked out when it was in the neck. Looking nice and plump though.
I didn't weigh the rat, eyeballed it. Don't have a scale. It was bigger than usual but wanted to give her a good meal because the previous ones have been on smaller side.

Thats quite a lump though. I am going to guess that in a day or 2 you will end up with a regurge. Thats too large IMO

Can't say I'm suprized she got it down. If she doesn't regurgitate it it will take a little longer to poop out. Might get sausage butt. I made that mistake as well. Had to soak mine in warm water to help him poop it out. Good luck. Hope she doesn't regurgitate.

It should be alright but I would wait some extra time before the next feeding.

It does look to big though. Try to do better next time.

Damn my timing is off lately. I'm moving at the end of the month. I wanted to have several good feeds before that happens. These rookie mistakes are killing me, I'm learning though!

I picked out the rat way too quick without correctly sizing.
If she does regurgitate what's the best thing you can do for it, if anything? Should I wait a week before trying to feed again or try sooner?

Also, what about feeding before preparing to ship your snake? I was planning on leaving at least 3 days after feed before shipping.

Did you have to do it several days in a row, or was once enough to get things moving?

That is QUITE a lump, but I really dont think its that bad. I would be suprised jf she regurged. If she has proper basking temps she'll be fine, tho probably uncomfortable for a few days.if you want to aid the digestive process you can bump the basking temp a couple degrees higher. Its not that big of a deal.

Id give her at least a week to digest a meal before shipping out. Honestly given the size of that meal she'd probably be just fine if you didnt feed her agian until after the move, thats what id do anyway.

Just make sure you know what your doing with shipping. If you dont know what your doing, use shipmyreptiles.com and do whatever they tell you ;)

She should handle it, having the right temps. If she regurges leave her alone, with fresh water and dont feed her.
