Do you think boas in general learn to know who there owners are?

I know snakes in general don't have the brain capacity to actually have emotions, that saying do you think boas or any type of snake share a connection with you.. Where you seen a change in them?

I don't think that in the abstract sense that snakes have complex emotions like humans and other higher animals. After handling snakes for years I do feel that snakes learn to recognize certain objects and people as "good" or "bad." Ive seen snakes that are able to be handled by certain people and not by others.

I have a corn snake that will sit very still for my husband, but when I hold her, all she wants is to get away. I personally feel that snakes learn to know who is who and build a certain emotion towards them. I could not tell you if they feel love, but I think it is who they feel safer with. Of course I would never hurt my husbands corn snake but there must be something she sees in him that I do not have. I also have a boa who will sit still for my husband but not me haha. But when it comes to my ball pythons, they tend to treat everyone the same based on their personality except my piebald who loves to strike at my husband, but not me.

I feel snakes do learn to recognize their owners. Most by smell and touch. Not in a love sense but in a "this smell is ok and wont hurt me". Although I swear Rosey my big BCI girl does love to come out and explore. She will willingly climb up my arm and onto me when I open her cage. Some days though she is more in the mode to just hang in the cage doorway with her head hanging out or curled up half in and half out of her cage. If anyone else holds Rosey, she will tense up and seems more concerned about what shes on vs when I hold her, she is all relaxed and constantly checking everything out that I walk past, not focusing on me per say. They aren't like dogs where you call their name and they come running, although I guess if you wore a porkchop around your neck and a dead rat around your neck, you will get both a dog and snake to act the same and come over to you ;)

Ya I have albino ball and if my wife holds it it will try to get away from her and she will sit it on the floor and it will cross the floor to were I'm sitting and wrap around my feet until I pick her up
