    albino shed cycle
    heya,

is it just me or is it kinda hard to see your albino is in his/her shed cycle? cause i realy have trouble seeing it.

it is only because i held her today and she felt different then she usually does so i looked at her eyes and they are indeed not as bright red as normally but i cant see it on her colours, but like i said it could just be me having trouble with that as i am slightly colour blind (i do see it on my other snakes btw).

would like to hear your opinions.

It's not your imagination. It is difficult to see and oftentimes I don't know mine is in shed until I find the surprise skin. Usually the cues are in his appetite. He normally doesn't go off feed unless he's getting ready to shed.

No, it is for sure hard to spot when they go in shed. The biggest tell for me is when they put on 100 grams in a course of a week, and look really pale instead of their bright selves. Oh and looking for a real pink belly often helps too.

    Ok thx alot:)

she did refuse a big f/t jumbo mouse (+/- 60 to 80 grams) yesterday but since i didnt know she was going into shed i offerd her a live adult mouse (about the half smaller then the f/t usualy is) wich she did take.... Ah well i am not worried about the f/t stuff she took the f/t jumbo mouse first time i offerd f/t so she will probably take it after she has shed

    thx again:)

The pink belly normally gives it away.

I agree it is hard to tell.....I think mine is going to shed now, but I never did observe a pink belly, but his eyes are dull looking, not really milk white, but just duller than they usually are...:weirdface

I just recently got an albino black pastel and had no clue he was in shed til I found his skin sitting there! It was a bit of a surprise lol. I just got an albino pinstripe and I think she might be going into shed because the skin on her head looks a bit wrinkly. And she's a bit snappy...but that could be because she just got here on Thurs too. I'm really hoping it's not just her personality lol. I don't need a snippy snake.
