Volcano go boom?

I find this really interesting from a geological standpoint, but scary as heck from a human standpoint. I wouldnt want to be anywhere near there. If anyone lives near there, please be careful :)

We've been hearing about this all day on the news. It would be pretty scary to live out there. Just another reason to love West Virginia: no volcanoes, no earthquakes, no hurricanes and no tornadoes.

Looks as though they are saying this one is imminent. I'll be interested to see what happens in the next couple of days. Geology has always facinated me. Someday i hope to visit a volcano.

I guess this one is supposed to be a major eruption. I never see anything in the news about volcanic eruptions in hawaii, and Kilauea is one of the most active volcano's in the world. Let's hope the supervolcano's never decide to erupt in our lifetimes.

Yeah, I'd love to see footage of that thing erupting. I hope no one gets hurt though.

I hope you mean Kilauea and not a supervolcano :P I've seen some footage here and there, they usually manage to get really neat night shots.

Yikes; I am glad I do not live by that thing. Around here, sure, we get 8 feet of snow. But we can just hide underneath it and hibernate until it disappears. I guess you can't do that with molten lava. :(

I remember when Mt. St. Helen erupted in 1980, I was only 7, but I remember. There was some footage they found on a home video camera of a man that didn't get out in time, it really got to me which is probably why I remember it so well.....scary!
