    Hello from the Pacific Northwest!
I'm a botanist and novice in the
    royal husbandry hobby, I'm about
to get two males from Texas maybe
just one of them though he's giving
me a really good combo deal so I'm
still thinking about it.. I've had this
    amazing and sweet Spotnose female
for about a month now, and the male
Pastel Jigsaw and male Mojave Spinner
may come in a month or so; I want
them both though might have to stick
with one.. the Mojo Spinner has a little
paradoxing on one side too. Here's my
girl named Love.. she's a little over a year

Her behavior and heart patterns named her..

Welcome to the site. You will find a lot of information here.

Are you getting either of the two males from the same person you got your female from? The reason I ask, is while she is a pretty snake, there is nothing that indicates she is a spotnose. Here is a link to a site with to see examples of a Spotnose. http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/spotnose/

Your girl looks to be a classic/normal ball python. If someone sold her to you as a spotnose, I believe you were decieved. Spotnose ball pythons have distinct head patterns as well as the typical busy overall pattern along the body. You girl doesn't show any of the traits that make a spotnose the morph it is. As long as she is a female she will still be able to produce nice babies for you in the future. But you definitely want to do your homework about a specific morph you have an interest in before you purchase.

    Best of luck

No sir, also I'm aware of what
    makes a spotnose a spotnose,
    though this was a second-hand
    girl from a petstore basically..
being sold as a high-white spot
    nose for 70, I didn't even intend
on getting a Spotnose nor my
very first ball at that point but
I fell in love with her she's an
    amazing snake, and beautiful
    along with a great temperament.

Even if she wasn't a spotnose
I'd be glad to have her she's
just an amazing snake! But I am
quite sure she's a spotnose from
her specific spots right under her
nose, I do too question the lack
of head pattern (the lady there
tried to sell me the snake as a
    scaleless head because she had
a bit of last shed's skin on top
making the coloring a little bit
    different) but the two spots
right under the nose are the
signs that convince me of her
lineage but if a normal, which
I will test when bred to either
my Pastel Jigsaw or Mojo Spinner,
which I am now glad to announce
I am officially as of today confirmed
to order both of those male snakes!

I'll grab more pictures of my baby
girl today to prove what I mean but
you can see one of her nose spots
vaguely from the first picture. I've
    seen breeders' example Spotnoses
from their collections and they don't
    even have the signature spot-nose
trait, just often a merging of yellow
around the nose, while my specimen
    has completely separate yellow dots
that do not connect to any other
    patterns or coloring. Hence Spotnose.

If for some chance I have a normal
    that's expressing the spotnose pattern
I would laugh and crap myself a bit
I'm not sure if that's more abnormal
than a spotnose morph having a close
    doppelganger normal snake ahahahah.

But she is also brighter and busier
compared to my neighbors old normal..
and she also has patterns that merge,
would love to see more pertaining to
this I would definitely want to let the
owners of the store know to get a hold
of the guy they got the snakes from.

Hello and welcome. Nice to see more PNW people on here. Even if she's a normal there's nothing wrong with a nice Normal girl :) That kind of upsets me that the lady would suggest it was a scaleless head, I've heard that might become an issue in the future. Congrats on the other new comers too, I love the Pastel Jigsaw. I'm not that much of a Mojave fan at the moment but that is only because I don't own anything Mojave yet. Overall that's a really good 3 to start with. Were you were able to make the reptile expo that just came to Portland?

Thank you for the replies!! I have some
pictures of her face now, it's clear now
to anyone that there's clean spots under
her left and right nostrils, and I forgot
to mention it before but compared to the
neighbor's normal where there's dark brown
normally on her it's a near jet black inbetween
the patterns with the dark-brown blushing
through on the spot maybe twice throughout
her. I really want confirmation that my
snake with spots on it's nose is indeed
not the Spotnose morph, regardless of
whats what she's still going to have two
really nice males to mate with in the future.

She has a discoloration thats reduced
a bit with her first shed, on head, which
was a solid shed so I was glad as I was
told she had shedding problems in the
past before; but she's definitely not
a scaleless head for sure.. no way I'd
get that lucky not ever. Would be nice!

As a bonus for this thread, here are
pictures from the breeder Chris that
is sending over these boys when they
are ready to go! I'll have them in about
a month or so..first is the Mojave Spinner
and second the Pastel Jigsaw, and now
a picture of his Mojave Spinner Blast
that he recently chanced out..be sure
    to check him out
    guy's his snakes are
absolutely beautiful! This is a holdback
you can already assume lmao just amazing

Thank you for stopping by everyone please
let me know if my snake is actually not a
Spotnose I'd really like to know from a lot
of different hobbyist to professional opinions.

    @alan12013: Sorry for forgetting
to reply, was focused on trying to
figure out if my snake is actually
a Spotnose or not. With the spots
on it's nose, but lack of head patterns
it's hard for me to honestly tell but
there's damn clean spots on the
nose!! There's no mistake in that.

    I didn't and wasn't aware, I was
planning on going to the Puyallup
Fair's reptile show in October this
year though I may not be able to
buy a snake this time due to the
two 3-gene animals coming to me
in a month, but it would be great
to look around and such.. haven't
seen or heard of anyone going on
places like these so IDK if there's
going to be really nice morphs or
anything like that for sale or browse.

I'm a little skeptical of calling her a Spot Nose. I have a normal that could almost pass because of a snowflake head pattern but he's still just my normal het Ghost.

Definitely a Normal. A lot of Normals have those dots.

Re: Hello from the Pacific Northwest!
    That's somewhat disappointing..
she's still a great snake but jeez
    I guess I can say I didn't get hit
by the petstore in another sort
of way and learned from this kind
of gentle experience, it was sort
of on a whim that I bought her too.

The only thing I actually am irked
about is trying to get her to feed,
according to her old feeding chart
its officially a month as of the 24th.

I can't wait for my boys though and
will post them up when they arrive,
I can't think of anything to share of
or ask about at the moment folks!!!
