    Trips to pet stores
So I have 3 snakes total. A hypo red tail boa, a pie bald ball python, and a normal ball python. I take my boa to petsmart all the time and they love him. However I have yet to take my bps to petsmart because I know they are a tad bit more sensitive. Under what conditions would it be fine for me to take one of my bps to petsmart?

I always take my ball pythons into pet stores, well I mean...not all of them of course. Considering its hot outside. I wouldn't do it when it's cold though obviously

Oh ok, so I'm in Texas and it's pretty warm during the day. In the 90s. Would it be ok for me to take one to petsmart?

As far as PetSmart is concerned, you'd be fine. I, however, wouldn't recommend it. There are enough customers who shop there that may not be a fan of seeing your snake "loose" with you and not "safely behind glass". Other than showing them off, do you have a good reason for doing so? I can't think of a reason. Better safe than sorry, IMO.

I dont know if it's good enough reason or if they really needed it but I figured if they got some natural fresh air it wouldn't hurt anyone. I was just mainly worried about temperature bothering the snakes. But you're right, however, same goes for all pets.. People take their dogs, cats, birds, lizards and I even saw a monkey once. Some people are afraid of those listed. Heck, I saw a lady bring in her lemur. Did she have a reason? Probably not other than wanting to show it off. But the times I've taken my boa I've gotten a positive result so far. Kids petting it, asking questions about them, taking pictures with it. But I can definitely see where you're coming from. Thank you for your input though!

I have never taken any of my snakes into a big chain store like that, but there were a few mom and pop stores that I went to back in the day that I would take them in sometimes...:snake:

I take my snake when I go to get him food sometimes. Just to make sure it is big enough for him, but i only do it when its warmer outside.

^^^ Agreed. Petstores are a wonderful place to pick up mites.
