    Orchid bark or aspen?
Hello, I am getting a baby BP at the Northwest Captive Breeders Expo in puyallup Washington in october. I have heard that aspen bedding is not the best for humidity, because it will mold. I am kinda looking at orchid bark because of how well it holds humidity, but I don't know if it will mold.

If u want something that holds humidity well I would go with forest floor or eco earth.

I use Aspen mostly, and have no issues.

I use orchid bark in all of my Vision cages. It holds moisture well, has never molded on me, and is easy to spot clean. I do a full replacement about every two months.

I use aspen for my baby. I mist once or twice daily, and have never encountered any mold. I spot clean and full replacement once a month

Depends on your situation. Obviously, aspen works fine for many keepers :) Personally, I have never had success using it for species that aren't more dry-loving, and prefer orchid bark for ball pythons.

I use orchid bark. Looks really nice in a display enclosure, and so far my humidity levels have been good. My girl's in shed right now, and I only find myself spraying maybe once or twice a day to keep levels between 65-70 (even fluctuates to 75 at times) and I have her in an all glass tank (exo-terra medium-low). Once she's out of shed, I'll probably only be spraying once a day or every other day.
