    How long
How long will a rat pup last if your snakes refuse to eat them rite away. I put them in a small cage to try again but just wanted to know for future reference incase I buy them a head of feeding day.

Realistically, you should put it down and freeze it if it doesn't get eaten within a day. At that age they still rely on the mother for most of their needs, and keeping it alive is kind of cruel when it needs mom for warmth, and food. Essentially what you're asking, and I mean it in a realistic way, not trying to be rude, is 'how long does it take rat pups to starve to death?'.

I would recommend putting it down, freezing, and trying again another day.

It depends on the age of the "pup".

After about 20 days old they are pretty much self sufficient. They are not great at getting their own food and water, but they are capable.

Any younger than about 20 days and you're really rolling the dice.
