Tub setups

I've already tried setting up a tub for my future RTB, but I've noticed that even though the heat mat is properly mounted the temp inside the tub isn't much different from the room temp. So how does the heat stay -in- the tub? Am I doing it wrong (do regular large storage containers from target not work?)

Temp alright? Humidity good? The easiest steps are to get either an infrared one or/and the two probes. That can check the humidity also with a heavy bowl. MAKE SURE IT'S HEAVY!! My homeboy loves it(ABSOLUTELY)

Are the objects, such as bark to assist shed.
Now what kind of enclosure is this in? I prefer RUBS! But only if you are going to pamper one having a nice show case is nice! If using metal seen cling wrap up between half and a little under half. That should help! After that monitor conditions for at least a week, offer some food, let it rest then baby play time!!

I have a CHE for my tub. My temps are always good unless the A/C is rediculously cold. But usually never is.

try a room/space heater?

Mine is now in a heated snake room that I'm loving... But, what I did when I didn't have a dedicated room, was use a heat lamp with a CHE.
I bought a reptile lamp stand and a lamp with a dimmer that would hang from the stand. I played with the setup to get the right ambient temp and it worked well... I had to adjust the dimmer, and move the stand up / down/ from side to side, etc. before finding the right location and strength to heat the tub.

A couple things though... 1. You need to place the bulb high enough over / away from the tub that it will not melt the plastic.
2. It can be tricky when getting the snake in / out. They tend to want to go towards the heat source and you have to avoid them touching the bulb or they'll get burned (the metal outside of the lamp gets hot too).
