    Odd egg... Advice please
I'm posting for my mom; we/she has two male and one female ball pythons. Without our trying, the female was bred. She laid her clutch on July 4th of this year, and has about a week and a half before they should be hatching. She laid 6 eggs, and has been "sitting" on them the whole time. My mom noticed a couple weeks ago that one of the eggs is different from the others. The female is temperamental, so we couldn't check if any are fertile or not. This egg, started out normal, but doesn't look normal anymore. It doesn't look like it is moldy either. Its more like the outer shell has completely been absorbed. Is there still a chance of this egg developing to full term? Here is the picture I snapped (taken tonight) after my mom brought it to my attention this evening.

    Hi,

It looks infertile really. I'd put a towel over the females head and try to candle it and see if it comes away from the others easily.

Looks like a slug at this point it should still be stuck pretty good, I would avoid stressing the female and avoid doing possible damage to the other eggs, especially since you are so close to them pipping and that the eggs around it are fine.

Now when you get to day 56/57 you will be able to remove the egg easily do so then so the hatchlings from the egg below can make it's way out.
