    First eggs
I am so excited I have my first eggs! I had 3 differant pairings last winter/spring and just assumed none of them took. Well it turns out the one I anticipated most actually did. Last week I noticed the Phantom female was looking a little chubby so I planned on throwing the male in after this weekends feeding to have a go for this winter. She didn't eat which is unusual for her. I came home Monday and went to check ont hem all and she was sitting funny stacked up like a soft serve ice cream. I tilted her a bit and saw the eggs. I quickly fired up the incubator and prepped everything. I am using the pvc pipe(spacer), lighting diffuser, plastic canvas, and just water method in the tubs. She hissed non-stop from the time I removed her tub until I got her into a holding tub but never struck although she looked like she would. I found 5 eggs and 4 candled with veins the 5th was hard to tell but the egg looked viable so I included it. Here's some pictures it was the first time for both of them both Phantoms. The female is a nice chocolate/blushed from Royer Reptiles and the male a very dark with broken patterning from Raphael Martinez at MAballs. Hopefully I get the super male I am looking for!

First both of them with her on the left:

Thanks much all. One question I did have and wasn't sure if I should post a new thread is about the egg tub. I remember reading somewhere that I thought it should be opened once a week or so to breath possibley more closer to hatching time but can't seem to find this again. Does anyone have input on that? I do have it sealed with press and seal then a lid over that. Should I let it breath weekly/daily or not at all?

We use seal and peel to hold the moister in better for the humidity. And we air it every three days with that.

I had been told once a week then for the last two weeks to leave a little corner of the press n seal open since they will need more oxygen at that point so that's what I will be going for. :)
