Went to change his water and he got me good! Girlfriend said he went for the mug when she went to change his water the other day too... Hopefully he is okay.

Can u think of anything husbandry wise that could be stressing him out? Also is his water right next to his hide? What I do everytimg before I open the cage I tap on it three times so he knows it me. I started doing it when I got fin. She was a rescue and very snappy. Lol. If u have a routine when opening the tank helps.

Nope, he is eating well, normally very docile. I think I startled him by opening the sliding glass and worried him maybe. His bowl is closer to the cold hide to stop humidity rising too much, but not right next to his hide. He was about a third out of the hide when he struck at me.

The idea about tapping on the glass is good, I believe he was startled. I was shocked when it happened haha!
