Burnt fur on mouse...

So I was heating up a mouse for one of my bps, and the fur got burnt a little, so I was wondering if it was still ok to feed the snake? http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/11/y8y2ava3.jpg

You heating them over camp fire? Kidding, as long as no part of the rodent was cooked and she doesn't mind the burnt scent I would think its ok.

I left it under the heat lamp and almost forgot about it haha

I would not risk it. Your snake can not digest cooked meat and it looks like you heated it up pretty good. I would find another way to warm them. Hot water works great for me.

We put ours in a ziplock baggie and weigh it down with a rock in hot water so it stays submerged. Works really well.

I don't use warm/hot water any more since the rats always end up so soggy when I take them out of the ziplock bag. I just let them thaw out and use a hair dryer to heat them up, especially the head of the rat. It works like a charm for me and you don't have to worry about soggy rats lol. And your snakes will get familiar with the sound of the hair dryer so it just like ringing a dinner bell. They will be waiting in their tubs for it to be offered [emoji4]

Your snakes have ears? My snakes don't but I do and I find hair dryers annoying. The real dinner bell is probably the odor of the prey. My snakes have never been turned off by wet rats and they get a good amount of water with dinner, its a win-win.

I cant stand the hairdryer trick cuz it makes my whole house smell like a pile of dead, hot rodents. Not for me

You don't need to run a hairdryer very long for a snake to pick up the scent. I consider this trick to be one of the most valuable around for encouraging feeding, and will never stop using it.
