Terrarium Stand Success Story!
I've been taking a long time to set up my new terrarium for my second-ever Ball Python (the first one was a very long time ago), and I know for sure that I really wanted to do a display tank despite the virtues of tubs and vision cages. However, I was wracking my brain for where to get a stand for a 40-Gallon terrarium, ESPECIALLY where to get one for pretty cheap. I'm really not one to spend much money on furniture, and since a 40-gallon has some rather odd dimensions, I wasn't really finding anything under a few hundred bucks.
After scouring everything I could think of, I found a LACK coffee table from IKEA that fit my terrarium depth-wise, but was just SLIGHTLY (5/8") too small on the width. Looking around some more on IKEA's site, I found these LACK nightstands that were 21x21" each. With two of them, it's just enough room for my display tank plus a perimeter of about an inch to two inches all around.
The nightstands are only 10 bucks each, so I picked up two of them plus some metal fastener plates and screws for about 5 bucks altogether. After assembling them, I put them flush against each other and screwed in the fastener plates to give it extra stability.
Altogether, a sturdy terrarium stand for just 25 bucks and a half hour of work!
Just thought I'd share for other people looking into terrarium stands but not really into the idea of spending 100+ dollars!

Re: Terrarium Stand Success Story!
Nice setup. I like to have a ledge around my tank for added security.
